The Power Of Jewelry

Jewelry from beginning of times was not, has never been synonymous of luxury and vanity, instead jewelry represents in most cultures passion, tradition, hierarchy, commitment, craftsmanship and art. It's always a self expression style. Jewelry and gemstones have been a part of mankind since before history was written.

At times like this when our world and everyday life is upside down is important to keep a positive mind and find a meaning in all that surrounds us. Having a piece of jewelry with a message or meaning is almost a necessity, we need what makes us feel good, protected and whole

In early societies, jewelry was worn as amulets to protect against bad luck and illness. The earliest finding of jewelry was dated around 25,000 years ago, this was a simple necklace made of fish bones it was found in a cave in Monaco. What this necklace signify? was it for the chief of the village or a witch doctor? maybe a princess wore it as a trophy her husband gave her for having a boy child. We will never know, we can only imagine.

Jewelry it's a vital part of literally every culture in the world

The need for ornaments predates the modern men. From myths evolves jewelry made into symbols thought to give the wearer control over fertility, wealth and love. Jewelry was worn for its magical properties. Jewelry later came to denote human connection and commitment. Slaves were made to wear bracelets to show who they belonged to. Wedding rings symbolized the commitment two people had for each other.

Jewelry trends and materials may or most likely will see a change due to the global upheaval we are facing right now, prices of metals, gemstones, labor...will surely alter the current trends. However as history has teach us, we will certainly always need and like to decorate and express our individuality and style - Jewelry is the easiest choice to obtain that feeling.
